2011

Pinnacle Business Awards Winner: Sword & Shield Enterprise Security was named by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce as the winner of the Small Business Excellence Award category of the 2011 Pinnacle Business Awards.

The Small Business Excellence Award honors a small business with 50 or fewer employees that has consistently grown its work force and revenue and has overcome obstacles, including access to capital, operational efficiency, control of expenses, customer loyalty and distribution.

The Pinnacle Business Awards have been recognizing outstanding businesses and businesspeople from throughout East Tennessee since 2005. Under the guardianship of the Knoxville Chamber Board of Directors, the award has quickly become a symbol of excellence within the East Tennessee business community with 46 award winners.

Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. has moved up 997 spots to No. 1609 on the 2011 Inc. 500/5000 list, marking the sixth year in a row the company has appeared on the list.

With a 2010 revenue of more than $139 million and a three-year growth rate of 170 percent, Sword & Shield jumped from its ranking of No. 2,606 last year. Sword & Shield first appeared at number 214 on the list in 2006. In 2007, the company was ranked at 426, at 563 in 2008 and at 3,647 in 2009.

2011 Var Business List: Sword & Shield is the highest ranked Tennessee company to appear on the 2011 VAR Business 500 List, coming in at number 133 and appearing on the list for the fifth year in a row.

The VAR Business 500 list is an overall ranking of North American Value-Added Resellers (VARs) determined by gross worldwide revenue for the previous year.  Sword & Shield’s gross revenue was up from $73.6 million in 2009 to $139.1 million in 2010. 2010

Inc. 5000 List: This is the firth straight year Sword & Shield has earned a position on the Inc. 500 or Inc 5000 lists of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

2010 Var Business List: Sword & Shield is the highest ranked Tennessee company to appear on the 2010 VAR Business 500 List, coming in at number 300.

The VAR Business 500 list is an overall ranking of North American Value-Added Resellers (VARs) determined by gross worldwide revenue for the previous year.  Sword & Shield’s gross revenue was up more than 66 percent – from $44.3 million in 2008 to $73.6 million in 2009. This is the fourth year Sword & Shield has earned a spot on the VAR 500 List.

Sword & Shield was recognized as one of the top 100 fastest growing information technology companies in the United States by Computer Reseller News (CRN). With a fiscal year top-line revenue growth of nearly 43 percent over three years, Sword & Shield was ranked number 72 on the list. This is the fourth year Sword & Shield has earned a position on the CRN Fast Growth 100 List; although not consecutively.

2009

Inc. 5000 List: With a 2005 to 2008 fiscal year top-line revenue growth of more than 64.1 percent, Sword & Shield was ranked number 3,647 on the complete list. This is the fourth straight year Sword & Shield has earned a position on the Inc. 5000: Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

 2009 Var Business List: Ranked at 432, Sword & Shield, an information security-consulting firm based in Knoxville, is the only Tennessee company to be included on the VAR 500, an overall ranking of North American companies determined by gross worldwide revenue. Sword & Shield had more than $44 million in gross revenue in 2008 to achieve this position.

Inc. 5000 List: This is the third straight year Sword & Shield has earned a position on the Inc. 5000: Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

 #402 on the VAR Business 500 List: an overall ranking of North American companies determined by gross worldwide revenue. Sword & Shield was ranked in at number 402 based on the company’sincrease in the2007 fiscal year gross revenue of 33.1 percent. This is the 2nd year in a row Sword & Shield has earned a position on the VAR Business 500 List.

 #57 on the CRN Fast Growth 100 List: recognized as one of the top 100 fast growth companies in the United States by Computer Reseller News (CRN) and the only Tennessee based company to make the list. With 2005 to 2007 fiscal year top-line revenue growth of over 91% Sword & Shield was ranked number 57 on the list. This is the third straight year Sword & Shield has earned a position on the CRN Fast Growth 100 List.

 Washington Technology Fast 50: Sword & Shield Enterprise Security has made the Washington Technology’s Fast 50 fastest-growing small businesses in the government market for the second year in a row and is the only Tennessee company on the list. Sword & Shield, an information security-consulting firm based in Knoxville, TN, ranked No. 9 on this year’s list, with a five-year compound annual growth rate of 138.32 percent. The company debuted at No. 6 in 2007 with a five-year compound annual growth rate of 131.52 percent.
