Sword & Shield Places 132 on CRN’s Solutions Provider 500 List

Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. continues its streak on the Solutions Provider 500 list for the sixth year in a roSolution Provider 500w by placing No. 132 on the elite roster.

Formerly known as the VAR 500, the UBM Channel’s CRN Solution Provider 500 ranks the highest producing solution provider organizations in the IT channel from hardware sales, software sales, and managed IT services.

The Solution Provider 500 ranking is based on revenue size, and considers each company’s forward-thinking approach to the channel. In particular, the Solution Provider 500 selection panel sought to recognize companies that build practices around data centers and virtualization while offering software integration and application development.

Revenue size is determined by the amount of annual products and services sold over the course of 2011.  Companies with no public documentation were required to submit a notarized affidavit attesting to their 2010 and 2011 revenues.

Sword & Shield’s gross revenue rose from $139.1 million in 2010 to $142.6 million in 2011.

“We are honored to be named among the top solution providers in North America,” said Sword & Shield President and CEO John McNeely. “Achieving this level of success reflects the innovative talents and energy of all our associates as well as having a customer driven focus.”

Sword & Shield serves industries ranging from banking and finance, to retail, manufacturing, and healthcare and also holds a NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) contact. SEWP is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Sword & Shield’s services are relied upon by several key federal agencies and numerous Fortune 1000 companies.

Sword & Shield provides services in security, compliance, risk assessment, policy development, and consultation in areas including penetration testing, network vulnerability assessment, PCI audits, HIPAA and GLB audits, security policy, security forensics, and security products, sold on the company’s website.

“The organizations listed in this year’s Solution Provider 500 list are today’s true integration innovators who generate high revenues by putting their customers’ needs first,” said Kelley Damore, vice president and editorial director at UBM Channel. “Their primary role is to engineer ways to leverage technology solutions that help customers exceed their sales goals, drive client satisfaction, expand internationally or accelerate new product development. In essence, they are today’s IT integration leaders for middle market and enterprise customers. We congratulate Sword & Shield for making this year’s list and look forward to covering their continued success.”
