Knoxville Chamber names McNeely to 2018-2019 Board of Directors

John McNeelyAppointment closely follows lifetime achievement award

Knoxville, Tenn. August 7, 2018 – Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, a leading national cybersecurity firm headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, announced today President and CEO John McNeely’s appointment to the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

This honor closely follows Entrepreneur Organization (EO) Knoxville naming McNeely as the recipient of its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.

According to the Knoxville Chamber, the Board of Directors guides the Chamber in its stated mission to become the premier economic development engine for the entire region. Directors oversee the business, activities, property, funds and affairs of the organization and serve as ambassadors for the Chamber throughout the community.

McNeely says he’s looking forward to contributing to upcoming Chamber initiatives.

“I enjoy giving back to the business community that has done so much to support Sword & Shield Enterprise Security since our inception more than two decades ago,” says McNeely. “Running and building a business is often difficult. I’m excited to help others be successful through my service to the Chamber.”

Potential board members are nominated by the Board of Directors and Chamber members. A nominating committee composed of Chamber board members chooses the slate of nominees, striving to maintain a board that represents the various demographics and industries in the Knoxville area. The nominee slate is presented to the Executive Committee and then to the full board for approval.

Board members serve a three-year term, with the term beginning July first of their selection year.
