Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. is once again ranked on the Inc. 500/5000 list, making 2013 the eighth year the information security company has earned a spot on the list.

The company posted revenue of nearly $123 million in 2012, placing Sword & Shield at number 4018 on the list. The company posted a three-year growth rate of 67 percent.

Sword & Shield first appeared on the 2006 list, making it one of only a handful of companies in the country to achieve that sustainability. The company received a Five-Time Inc. 5000 Honoree award in 2010.

“We are honored to once again be named to the Inc. 5000 and pleased to be part of a growing number of Tennessee companies making the list this year,” said Sword & Shield President and CEO John McNeely. “We have a great team at Sword & Shield and our growth is a result of our drive to be the best at what we do.”

The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012.

The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found here.

“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500/5000 are in glamorous industries, but, in their fields, they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do, “said Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg. “They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation.”
