Global Communications Provider to Offer Services under SEWP V

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sword & Shield Federal is pleased to announce the addition of Level 3 Communications as a team member providing DDoS Mitigation and Network-Based Security as a part of Sword & Shield Federal’s NASA SEWP V contract.

Sword & Shield Federal, as a NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V prime contract holder, allows companies to act as sales agents to expand its capabilities in providing IT and IT security products and solutions to federal agencies. Sword & Shield Federal a division of Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, administers the sales agent program in addition to providing a variety of federal cybersecurity solutions.

“Thanks to the size and sophistication of the Level 3 global network, Sword & Shield Federal has access to a massive amount of security threat data, enabling us to help protect you from attacks before they affect your agency and we do it while avoiding unnecessary complexity and cost,” said Sword & Shield Federal Vice President Raymond Kahre.

With Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks growing in size, frequency and complexity, Level 3provides layers of defense through enhanced network routing, rate limiting and filtering that can be paired with advanced network-based detection and mitigation-scrubbing center solutions.

Sword & Shield Federal, powered by Level 3, has developed a proprietary solution that is beyond Advanced Threat Prevention and protects IT environments using a combination of technologies integrated into Sword & Shield’s professionally managed, network-based firewall.

“Today, federal agencies face the daunting challenge of combatting a seemingly endless stream of cyberattacks,” said Dave Young, regional vice president of Level 3’s Government Market Group. “Level 3 is pleased to work with Sword & Shield to offer its customers access to our leading detection and mitigation technologies, along with our managed security services, to provide an advanced layer of defense against these ever-evolving cybersecurity exploits.”

SEWP V is a multi-award GWAC vehicle focused on commercial IT products and product-based services. The 145 pre-competed contract holders offer a wide range of commercial technology solutions, including tablets, desktops and servers; IT peripherals; network equipment; storage systems; security tools; software products; cloud-based services; telecommunications; health IT; sensors; video conferencing systems and other IT, communications and audio-visual products.
