Sword & Shield Makes Inc. 500/5000 for the Sixth Consecutive Year

Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. has moved up 997 spots to No. 1609 on the 2011 Inc. 500/5000 list, marking the sixth year in a row the company has appeared on the list.

With a 2010 revenue of more than $139 million and a three-year growth rate of 170 percent, Sword & Shield jumped from its ranking of No. 2,606 last year. Sword & Shield first appeared at number 214 on the list in 2006. In 2007, the company was ranked at 426, at 563 in 2008 and at 3,647 in 2009.

“We are very pleased to secure a spot on the Inc. 5000 List for the sixth consecutive year,” said Sword & Shield President and CEO John McNeely. “This honor and recognition as a fast growth company is a testament to the outstanding efforts and dedication of all our associates in building trust in the relationships with our customers for solving challenging IT security issues.”

Inc.com, the online arm of Inc. magazine recently announced its annual ranking of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country this week. The list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

The 2011 list is ranked according to the percentage revenue growth from 2007 through 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. They also had to be based in the United States, privately-held, for-profit and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.

The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000 and the minimum for 2010 is $2 million.
